Rebuilding my site using JAMstack

The previous versions of my website were developed with Drupal 7 and 8. It was an effort to keep the site maintained and updating it became a pain.

This was a great chance to start a fresh and try something new. I made a list of features I wanted to try out and explore further.

  • Headless CMS
  • API's
  • Static site generator
  • Progressive Web App
  • Continue with Vue.js learnings

I decided to combine Cockpit and Nuxt. Cockpit is a self-hosted headless and API-driven CMS. Nuxt.js is a framework for creating static generated Vue.js applications with an option to create a PWA.

It was refreshing to use the new tech stack compared to Drupal. The whole process from start to finish was fun and educational.

I can understand how JAMstack is currently a major trend in web development and for me is definitely the tech stack I want to be working with going forward.
